Annual Membership Conditions 2021-2022

Welcome to McCormack Park. This facility has been generously donated to the community by the late Mr Cyril McCormack and his wife Adele.

The infrastructure has been provided and maintained by the Merrijig Rodeo & Sports Association, the Merrijig Campdraft Association, the Mountain Cattlemen’s Association of Victoria, the Merrijig Fun day committee and the generosity of the Merrijig community.

An annual membership fee $50.00 applies to ANY person wishing to use the arena/park, irrelevant of the intended frequency of use. It applies from 1st Sept for 12 months. All memberships must be renewed in Spring, regardless of when they were taken out. 

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT AN ALLWEATHER ARENA. TO THIS END THERE WILL BE A TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF APPROXIMATELY 3 MONTHS. 

You will be notified by Email and Text of the dates of closing and re-opening. This is a weather dependant length of closure and will be decided by the McCormack Park committee annually. 

A family fee of $50.00 per annum can apply where a parent is supervising use by their own children under 18 years of age. If both adults from the same family intend to ride the price is $100 per year. Everyone over the age of 18 is expected to have their own membership.

This annual fee DOES NOT include any form of personal insurance for the member, the members property or injury or damage the member may cause to another individual or individuals’ property.  It does not allow for any form of clinic/fun day or usage that involves invitation for non-members. 

If you would like to use the arena for an Event/Clinic etc please contact the Secretary.

Permission must be sought for anything other than personal usage or any intended usage that involves non-members.

Your fees will help facilitate the maintenance and administration of the park. 

You must submit a signed copy of this application form with payment BEFORE you ride.

Conditions of use: 

Arena- Is NOT to be deep harrowed or ploughed. Please leave the surface as you found it. Smooth with upside down harrows. Contact Jason Egan Phone: 0407 967 185 if you have any questions. 

If you intend to use cattle on the arena you must notify Secretary before use, without prior consent it is not permitted.

ALL rubbish is to leave with you. Drums turned upside down are NOT rubbish bins. (No Shire collection available). 

Please keep ALL horses and cattle out of the ‘people’ area that includes the buildings. Eg: Bounded by area fence and yards at either end, McCormack Road fence line and fence that runs behind buildings. Horses can be walked through the ‘people area’ using the gate closest to McCormack Road. Please refrain from riding more than this in this area. 

* Where possible please keep floats parked on Gravel areas. 

* Please do not tie horses to trees, and be mindful of where you tie up.

* Please use the 2nd or 3rd gateways for entering and exiting the property. The first driveway is PRIVATE PROPERTY. ALL gates are to be kept CLOSED.
